Pros

Down to earth coworkers and patients for the most part. When push came to shove in certain situations, people teamed up and made things happen.

Cons

Not everyone shares the same work ethic and management does not value employees. Compensation abysmally lower than market rate and potential for more fair compensation not in sight. Union rep and union steward left a bad taste in my mouth and I did not want to have anything to do with them.

Advice to Management

Be honest and have some integrity.

I have been working at Centinela Hospital Medical Center full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Helpful staff, gives opportunities to new grads, makes you stronger, you can easily transfer to ICU or ER within a few months

    Cons

Usually short staffed, cares about profits before employees and patients, very limited resources. RNs have to do social worker and case manager duties.

    Advice to Management

Give the RNs a resource nurse, the workload is very heavy.
