I worked at Centogene full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good product portfolio, benefits are great if you’re single, salary is decent (until you find out they basically don’t do raises and don’t have a performance review system in place)

    Cons

For starters I don’t write reviews on anything so the fact I’m taking time to write this should really say something off the bat. Constant yelling, being talked down to as if you’re a dog, just overall unprofessionalism by a lot of people (mainly in upper management). Many people just pull rank on you if they disagree with something you say and usually aren’t willing to even compromise as it’s usually their way or... the highway. Whenever any sort of compromise does happen (very rare) people drag there feet as much as possible to get the task done. Microsoft excel is the CRM system with no willingness to change that anytime soon which makes it near impossible to keep things in order. Almost everything is done manually with next to no automation in place to make things easier. Just an overall very toxic work environment that in turn creates a very high turnover with the company.

    Advice to Management

Without a complete overhaul I’m not sure how anything can be fixed. I would strongly recommend HR start looking at these reviews on here seriously as it’s not just a few people that are unhappy it’s without question the majority.

Dear former employee, I am sorry to hear that you did not have the best experience at Centogene. Some of your points of concern we are already adressing, with the start of company wide appraisal interviews this year and higher digitization. We know that not everything is perfect ...

    I worked at Centogene full-time

    Pros

interesting and cutting edge work in diagnostics, interesting subject matter, nice colleagues

    Cons

only one person matters - founder CEO. no one else has a say and no one speaks out against his abusive management style. professional development is not possible unless He decides to give you a raise or change your title etc. His behavior creates a company full of anxious individuals whose every move is only to get His approval or avoid His abuse. Unfortunately, most good colleagues end up leaving, resulting in an... extremely high turnover, and yet no one opens their mouth.
