Negative Outlook

I worked at Challenge Unlimited full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

Making a positive difference in the lives of people with disabilities.
A lot of vacation and sick time.

Cons

Social Service agency that is top heavy with over paid senior managers while the majority of the employees can barely pay their bills.
Very negative culture that allows for harassment.
Senior managers appear to be unethical and hold middle managers responsible for everything.
Does not promote a team work environment. Managers tend to seek and destroy employees rather than support and retain employees.
Tends to not promote from within the company.
Don't expect a bonus if you are not a manager.
You will never have enough time to get all of your work done because you will be expected to juggle other unfilled positions at the same time for no extra compensation.

Advice to Management

Stop letting well trained good employees walk out of your door.
You preach about being positive but are the catalyst for the negativity in the company.
When employees continually leave, they are not the problem, the company is, or they would stay.

    Pros

Helping people with disabilities - win/win for everyone. There is a good talent pool. The people are the strongest asset and work with a passion.

    Cons

Insurance is bla, expensive but doesn't do much for you. Dental is pitiful but pays for cleaning. The turnover can be high at times.

    Advice to Management

Trust the people you hire to do the jobs you hired them for. Consultants are quick fixes that are expensive but not long term solutions.

  2. "Very high turnover"

It's a job and not a good one

    Cons

Due to very high driver turnover drivers get burnout quickly because you are overworked and underpaid.

    Increase pay
