Pros

Beautiful products. Great pride in company's heritage. Great international artistry team who offer complete training. Amazing skincare. They do understand freelancers schedule and offer ways to reschedule.

Cons

Pay range is well below what industry standard is ($25-$30 is average for the SoCal market). The team was not all trained in makeup artistry which set the standard lower for the entire team.

Advice to Management

The execs scheduling events seem overwhelmed. Phone calls are not returned in a timely manner. There is an opportunity to improve communication and set artists up for greater success with better support from management.

    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

Good benefits, nice employee discounts, bragging rights, nice balance between work and personal life, 401K and pension plan and beautiful offices.

    Cons

Toxic environment, morale is low, poor communication between management, difficult for junior and lower level employees to get ahead, proper credit not given to job well done, some senior management seems to get off on mistreating subordinates, constant restructuring by president causing people to feel pressured or on edge, people are treated like commodities, technologically behind, poor motivation and incentives, lower salaries even for industry standards, obvious caste system, blatant favoritism and not any sort of training ever, even when people ask for it.

    Advice to Management

In the past 4 years under new "top management" things have become depressing, cut throat and unstable. That needs to change. Also as said before by others give raises & promotions based on job ability. As well as become more tech savvy and be open to new programs. The negativity in the air is palpable and could easily be fixed with an overhaul of several senior management areas starting with the president. Many mid and junior level talent that is neglected or abused. They need to be listened to and encouraged. Also the favoritism needs to reevaluated. Not only is it difficult to be on the outside but it seems those who are beloved are often part of the problem and tend to delegate and then take all the credit. Chiquet is so disconnected to the American office it's obvious they are all drowning.
