Pros
It's challenging, sometimes overwhelming, but I like how there is always something new to volunteer for and every day we learn and create new processes, procedures and train each other. Everyone has been on the team for several years except for a few contactors who compete for the occasional FTE opening. Getting my first annual bonus was life changing, and a 1 month sabatical every 5 yrs is more than any other employer offered me, so I feel lucky and will remain loyal to the cause. There are a lot of resources to learn about finances and stock trading which I'm starting to get into. Also employer sponssered stock purchase plan and 401k matching is great. This is how companies should all treat their employees.
Cons
I wish I had more time for expirimenting, testing, traIning and cross-training. I try not to work extra hours, but there is aLways pressure to do more, so it takes discipline to not get sucked too deep into the endless work queue, and make time for training. But it's working out ok so far. It's ok to ask for help, so not really any serious cons.
