I have been working at Charter Communications full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Free cable and internet, discounted pay per view.

Cons

Middle and upper management have no clue as to how to run a company. They have incredible employees at their fingertips and chose to ignore them. Its always what benefits the customer and never the employee. They are hemorrhaging excellent employees and do not care. If you are not part of the "good ole boys club" then count yourself out for anything. Good/excellent ideas go unnoticed. Charter has a do as your told mentality and when questions are asked the only repsonse you get is, "it is what it is".

Advice to Management

Open your eyes. Happy employees make happy customers, i.e. Google, Apple.

I worked at Charter Communications full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The company starts employees at a decent wage and gives annual raises in most departments. They offer discounted products and services to employees and have reciprocal agreements with other providers outside of their footprint. They have many shift options available to choose from and offer paid training to employees.

    Cons

Ther is poor management throughout the company, the worst being middle management in the call centers. While Charter offers great products, most of the equipment is outdated compared to their peers and competition. There are constant changes to bonuses and commissions for the worse and much inconsistency throughout company.

    Advice to Management

Don't be afraid to rock the boat and stand up for your employees and their ideas.

I worked at Charter Communications full-time

    Pros

Good product line, always improving. Local support and office culture was great.

    Cons

No matter your work ethics and accomplishments, you are replaceable. Until they figure out how to improve their labor capital retention, I do not see things improving.

    Advice to Management

Sales metrics and incentives are over simplified, The company should look at some best practices, starting with their closest competitors. Additionally, performance appraisals were misleading, due to data entry mistake and [ ...]
