Pros

Good base salary and excellent profit sharing.
Benefits seem commensurate with other chemical industry companies but not with oil company parents.
Employees are not discouraged from expanding job scope.

Cons

Opportunities for advancement in US-based jobs seems minimal.
Staffing in most areas too lean.
Recognition for jobs well done are lacking.

Advice to Management

There is a lot of focus on Operational Excellence, but it seems like it is more for show and tell than a way of doing business.

    Approves of CEO

    Pros

Company is making money. I see potential.

    Cons

There is so much that needs to be done. You would think that since this company is owned by two of the giants (Chevron anc Conoco Phillips) that this chemical company would run smoothly. The company is behind times and gets little support from corporate.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the dead weight and get some people who are ready to move this company forward!

"Great place to work - only for new college graduates"

    Doesn't Recommend
    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

The work can be challenging if you like to work at a sophisticated chemical processing plant.

    Cons

Management is mainly concerned about making sure that new college graduates are given new opportunities and challenges. They do this at the expense of the experienced personnel that actually get the work done. Currently, Chevron Phillips is not a good place to work if you are a seasoned and experienced employee.

    Advice to Management

Take care of your experienced employees as well or better as you take care of the new college graduates. The experienced employees have put in the time and deserve more respect. Also, the company needs someone to mentor the new college graduates.
