I worked at Chevron as an intern (More than a year)

    Pros

Want you to succeed, helpful people. Great pay, safe work environment. Great benefits. Embrace diversity and employee development. Great training opportunities and help completing projects. Opportunities for promotion.

    Cons

Working hours during shut downs (12 hour shifts). The shifts are not all year round but something to think about.

Keep treating Co-ops and interns great.

    Neutral Outlook
    Approves of CEO

I worked at Chevron full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Breadth of opportunities - geographic, technical, cultural
Importance of core business to world economic progress
Generally favorable benefits package, excellent 401K and defined benefit pension provisions
    Respectful and safety-conscious workplace

    Cons

If you don't want to live in Houston and are a US employee then be warned
Decision making is too often overburdened with process steps followed for their own sake rather than for the benefit they bring to the quality of decisions

    Advice to Management

Generally I'm pleased with management's direction - the one exception is my extreme dissatisfaction with their large political contributions and the pressure applied to management level employees to support the Chevron PAC even when personal beliefs are in conflict with PAC activities.
