I have been working at Chevron as a contractor (More than a year)

Pros

GREAT campus and cafeteria, friendly environment around campus, wonderful creative energy is experienced within the internal creative agency. They keep me busy all the time, but comp days make up for all the overtime hours. People really do care, and want to see you succeed.

Cons

LONG drive from San Francisco. Workload does get stressful, especially when you're juggling many projects at any given time.

Advice to Management

Keep up the good work! and Thank you for taking a chance on me.

I have been working at Chevron full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Focus on individual, especially early career, really support development of skills, great benefits and opportunities

    Cons

Oil business can be finicky, if you're a mid-career employee, don't expect support for development, they focus on early career.

    Advice to Management

Don't forget that development of employees (the people part of your strategy) includes ALL not just the "Horizons" employees.

I have been working at Chevron full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Decent salary, like working with multi-nationals, great travel opportunities. Decent benefits.

    Cons

Old school too many levels of management. Line Managers are old school glorified self serving cops. THIS IS AN OLD MANAGEMENT SCHOOL COMPANY.

    Advice to Management

Performance ranking old school - needs ability for those being managed to rank their managers. Pissing off an ass manager will destroy your ranking. New managers NEED MENTORING.
