I have been working at Chevron full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

Multiple career paths with a variety of opportunities to grow. Intellectually stimulating work that has an impact. Intelligent people who treat each other with respect. Chevron "walks the talk" regarding our values and the Chevron Way.

Cons

The decision-making process can drive some people batty, but the result is good decisions overall.

Advice to Management

Maintain the strong culture, especially as long-timers prepare to retire and new people join Chevron's work force.

I have been working at Chevron full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They are a top tier company. Benefits are great. 401k contributions are top of the line. Health, wealth, and wellness are very important to the company. Many benefits in all three of those areas. Great bonuses that start out as 10% of your total salary if brought in out of college.

    Cons

Only con would be working for a major corporation and if you wouldn't fit in with a major company. It's a very large scale organization with a lot of moving parts, which could take time to get everything done.

I have been working at Chevron as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Really care about safety and office ergonomics
    - 9/80 schedule is a big win
    - Genuine helpful co-workers who know what they are doing
    - Good but not stratospheric pay, but great relocation package for interns
    - Low pressure work pace
    - Treats their interns very well with social events and compelling projects
    - Low turnover, people stay for decades!

    Cons

    - No free food, unlike most tech companies
    - Some offices in need of remodeling
    - Significant silos and lack of innovative drive in certain departments, but that can be fixed
    - Not as progressive in terms of going after new renewable energy technologies
    - Anything not upstream seems to be at a disadvantage
    - Does not attract enough rock stars from top schools

    Advice to Management

Need to attract a younger more dynamic workforce and build a more innovative, efficient culture.
