I have been working at Chico's FAS part-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

Ok. I have something good to say. If you are over 40, over 50, and even over 60 or 70, and present yourself well, Chico's will give you a chance. Of course, you need to be computer savvy, a multi-tasker par excellence, competitive, outgoing, energetic, physically fit, focused, willing to do grunt work, and willing to work abhorrent hours and all holidays, they will tolerate your beginner's mistakes and afford you the opportunity to ascend the learning curve--albeit it had better be rapidly. Yes, the pace is frenetic and there is plenty of non-commissionable work, but to have the opportunity--any MEANINGFUL opportunity--,at this age to acquire expertise is astonishing. If you can survive Chico's, I would venture to say that there is no retail environment in which you would not excel. They will give you the chance to be fabulous.

Cons

Many. But that's not the point, here

Advice to Management

    Pros

Upscale clothing and accessories to sell.

    Cons

Unfair sales tactics. Sales are given away to other associates and store management staff. Too many people criticizing you and giving you orders." Different strokes for different folks." No system as to who gets sales if you start working with a customer. Find it a very unorganized working situation with a lot of unfairness. They say you have a goal and when you achieve it they still find fault with you. A lot of stress and hostile working environment..

    Advice to Management

They should have a better system and rules for sales associates to avoid conflict and unfair practice of losing one's sales.

District Manager didn't know how to treat people ,the entire staff left.

Interview your District Managers better, A degree doesn't mean anything if they don't know how to treat people.
