I have been working at Children’s Home Society of Florida full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

I strongly believe in the work that we do at CHS, helping families to become stronger and healthier every day. My colleagues are so dedicated and true team members who support and encourage each other. The supervisors are always available to listen and assist in any way they can. They are understanding and also supportive. Also, the PTO benefits are pretty good (and supervisors encourage employees to use it) and one of...

    Cons

The pay is below par and the health benefits aren't great either. Employees across the state haven't received a pay increase in at least 3-4 years, management says it's because they can't afford it. CHS couldn't even afford to give workers a 2% raise this year which is just sad. CHS loses amazing employees every day because they leave for better paying jobs. That's frustrating because we need great people to continue...

    Advice to Management

Pay employees a fair wage so that turnover decreases. It's just bad business to constantly have to hire and train new workers and it's demoralizing and frustrating to the employees who remain and have to pick up the slack.

I worked at Children’s Home Society of Florida full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

This company was good to work for, they do want to make sure their employees take care of themselves and their mental health. The pay isn’t bad but should be higher for the job, but is better than other similar agencies.

    Cons

Work overload! Lots of cases and not enough time. Many expectations that just cannot be met. Really not good for people with children.

    Advice to Management

Hire enough workers so that turnover isn’t a constant issue. Look at chick fil a, they have so many workers on shift every shift that there is never a long wait or drop in service...same mentality goes to this much more important job!
