Pros

Some of the best reasons to work at Chivas USA are because it is the sports industry, a part of Major League Soccer (an up and coming league), and the passion for the team by its employees and fans.

Cons

The downsides to working at Chivas USA are that senior management exhibits poor leadership, the direction of the team is unknown, the identity of the team is unclear to the employees and fans who purchase the product, and it is a hostile work environment.

Advice to Management

Ownership has already made several changes at the end of 2010 and those changes are positive. I expect senior management to continue to improve. I recommend new senior management create a supportive, energetic, fun environment where people want to be and want to grow as creative, hard working professionals.

    Pros

Chivas USA gives sports minded individuals the opportunity to work in professional sports. It's a great stepping stone and if you work hard and are a top producer, it can lead to management either within Chivas USA or with another sports franchise. Chivas also provides reps with a decent commission rate of 10%.

    Cons

Poor base salary. It's difficult to survive in Los Angeles on the salary. Unless, you are a sales superstar and bring in a high amount of revenue right of the bat which is highly unlikely.

Other cons are unhappy employees, constant change and no real identity or direction.

    Advice to Management

Implement change and stick with it. Introduce new members of staff to the entire company not just a select few. Some executives are walking around calling the shots and no body know's who they are.

Communicate better to sales force. Increase base salary. It's not going to attract talent.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Chivas USA full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    -Great learning experience
-Internship program used to be great, but near the end, no one cared

    Cons

-There never was any money regardless of who was the owner of the club, limiting what you can do.
-The employees were great, but a handful of them were not qualified for their position and brown-nosed their way to manager positions.

    Advice to Management

Regardless of ownership, no one knew how to treat employees. MLS HR would try to sweep internal problems under the rug since they knew the club would cease
