I have been working at Chuck E. Cheese's full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Opportunity to improve guests' days
Schedule fairly flexible
Guaranteed hours
Free meals on work days
You'll lose a lot of weight from how much you need to move daily

Cons

High stress
Poor benefits and pay
Little opportunity for advancement
Unrealistic expectations - you literally have to run yourself ragged and pass on these expectations to your workers. I always felt guilty requiring so much of people trying to pay their rent on so little money.

Advice to Management

Show your appreciation in a monetary way - pins and plaques don't pay bills

    Pros

Being able to play a lot of games and it was a fun environment to hang out with kids. Made my day a better place.

    Cons

Handling a bunch of kids may be stressful at times. Do need a lot of experience with younger kids.

    Pros

You get a chance to meet and interact with a lot of different people.

    Cons

Challenges are you are treated as if your work there means nothing. They give "overworked and under-paid" a new meaning.

    Advice to Management

My advice to upper management is to not solely take advantage of being upper management. This is a serious problem at the Irving Chuck E. Cheese's location. Management sits at booths conversing sometimes even eating freely while guests visit as if there is work being done half their shift while handing off many of their duties to cast members that are actually working. Also, management gets annoyed when called for help or assistance by a cast member and sometimes employees are even ignored when paging them on the walkies. A manager even said once their responsibility is to just watch over the store and supervise when in actuality that is true but not to just lounge around looking for more duties to pass down to cast members that are seeing no chance into even moving forward with the company. Many times they say they are going to promote you but you look up and months later you are still not promoted and still being paid minimum wage and they want you to do everything a team two is doing more specifically training others. This is actually probably a reason many long time employers are leaving the company, this and mistreatment of employees of the CEC Irving location.

Last but not least, schedules are posted for employees to see a day before on Sunday for the following week and it has been this way for months. Managers know their schedules a month in advance yet cast members have a day notice, actually less than a day because they're posted in the afternoon.
