Negative Outlook
No opinion of CEO

I worked at Cigna as an intern (More than a year)

Pros

Great Pay and flexibility considering it was an internship

Cons

Job mostly dealt with password resets and mindless tasks. No real chances to learn any involved tasks.
Told flat out that interns have no chance to get hired. At least they were honest.

Advice to Management

Create more avenues for interns to learn.

I have been working at Cigna as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Most people are very, very nice if not cordial. Many intelligent co-workers. Flexible, family friendly hours. Great cafeteria.

    Cons

Lots of dead wood. Management not willing to take risks. Project managers have very little concept of time management; therefore, there are a lot of unnecessary fires that occur. Treat consultants like second-class citizens.

    Advice to Management

Don't be afraid to start living your tagline, "GO YOU." It will help efficiencies and morale.

  2. "Hectic, disorganized IT, but getting better"

I have been working at Cigna full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Decent salary and benefits. Lots of remote worker opportunities. Highest level management seems to know what they are doing. Middle management sometimes not so much. People are generally easy to work with.

    Cons

Some IT processes needs fixing. The typical political wrangling occurs here, like so man alrger companies, but it is generally manageable as long as you don't take your work too seriously.

    Advice to Management

Value your IT employees. Connect them to business. Encourage thinking and creativity. Sr. management needs to better understand the role of technology in the business, and how to wisely spend IT dollars.
