I have been working at Cigna full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

The pay is good, benefits decent. There are a lot of good people who work very hard to get results.

Cons

Not all leadership is of a consistent quality or business acumen level. This can be challenging cross-functionally.

Advice to Management

Hold all the supervisors and leaders accountable for professional capabilities and actions. This might mean paying more for outside talent rather then promoting from within or making sure that the supervisor level is led by strong managers who can groom that skill set if needed.

    Pros

    Most of the 1st line managers in Technology are great.
    Work life balance

    Cons

    Benefits in particular the health insurance gave limited options.
    very reluctant to change / new ideas.

    Advice to Management

    It appeared that HR didn't closely monitor employee or more so contractor turnover. The team I was on went though contractors at alarming rate, for Sr. Level technologists this should not be the case. It was more of an indication of a management problem but this went unaddressed for quite some time.
