I have been working at Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra full-time for more than a year
Pros
Free concerts, paternity leave pay at 100%
Cons
Employees have no sense of boundaries, respect, or tone. As a person of color I felt many instances of micro aggressions in the office space from, being called hair lady and being asked to speak able “Black issues” many times as though Black people are a walking monolith. Besides this I attempted twice to negotiate a reasonable salary for my work after the firing of two bosses in a department of two, which meant I picked up the majority of work during this time and kept it for the most part. Beyond anything else I can just say that this organization had a major problem with boundaries on off days they will call and text you until you answer them even with an away message set I had to actively block several co workers from contacting me on my personal device
