Approves of CEO

Pros

-Good pay as a contractor
-If you have a good manager, potential to work on various types of projects

Cons

-No recognition from the company, you will be considered a second class citizen
-Readily expendable - there are no longer term commitments. They will only renew your contract one quarter at a time. Contract extension doesn't matter though. They will let you do anytime they need to.
-Self preservation is the top priority here. People only care about protecting their jobs and getting themselves recognized.
-The cross functional dependencies make it very difficult to get anything done quickly. There are processes on top of processes and then some more processes on how to manage those processes. It's not easy...

Advice to Management

-Get rid of process.
-Fewer tools.
-Consider hiring contractors when looking "inside". Even if a contractor works at Cisco, they are still only able to be considered for roles once they decide to look outside the company
