Approves of CEO

I have been working at Cisco Systems full-time (Less than a year)

Pros

1, Very friendly culture - there's no "up or out" approach. Everyone is being evaluated based on one's achievements rather than on his peer's relative performance.
2. Very good pay - easily comparable to management consulting, but without working 100 hours a week!
3. Super-flexible hours, many people work 1 or 2 days from home.
4. Cisco solutions are not trivial - to understand a solution one has to understand the whole eco-system, which forces you to see the big picture all the time.

Cons

As in any big organization, some 25% of your time you'll waste on filling forms.

Advice to Management

Keep doing a great job by adding more marketing focus!

    No opinion of CEO

I worked at Cisco Systems as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Colleagues know what they are doing. They are highly experienced in their respective fields and are friendly

    Benefits package is pretty nice.

    Cons

The company is so large that it is easy to get lost.

Florescent lighting, cubicles, the stereotypical corporate floorplan.

  2. "Good job opportunities for growth due to recent churn"

    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at Cisco Systems full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Variable work hours and dynamic environment. Mix of new, existing and legacy systems. Focus is back to core competencies.

    Cons

Recent churn has seen loss of good talent due to early retirement, etc. Also lost some good people due to blind corporate reorganization. Usual large company politics on projects can be frustrating.

    Advice to Management

Vision. And take risks, too much playing it safe. Invest in R&D.
