Pros

Great work environment, awesome benefits and opportunities to advance in career. Love the culture to do the right thing for your employees and customers.

Cons

Would like to see more structured programs on career building and moving around within the company. Also, regular raises would be great.

Advice to Management

Rate teams instead of individuals if you want better results, sometimes people are competing more than collaborating that hinders in the overall growth of the company.

    Pros

Allow you to select Macs as your computer to use. Good bonuses and salary. Competitive benefits. Nice facilities to work in.

    Cons

Upper management is destroying the company by having no clue to where they are going or what business they are in. Cisco's future is unfortunately to become like HP where engineering is nearly absent and the products are very sub-par.

    Advice to Management

Get a clue on where you are headed. Decide that you need to invest in R&D and engineering if you wish to really compete and stop touting supply-chain management and cost controls as the way to take the company to the head of the pack. If you don't know what business you want to be in and what it takes to be the leader then no amount of cost controls will help you get there.

"Full of turf wars and little cross-BU collaboration"

    Pros

Pedigree of computer networking background. Great place to advance your product management, product marketing, Ethernet networking domain expertise. There are some great people there.

    Cons

Abusive languages, turf wars among business units. Your product will get de-positioned by other BUs. And you will have to de-position them too. The company is terrible at getting multiple BUs to work together and build a cohesive system. In the era of modern data center convergence, this is a deadly issue that will cost Cisco continuous market share decline in Ethernet switching.

    Advice to Management

Change R&D organization structure, reward cross-BU alignment and collaboration.
