I have been working at Cisco Systems full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Well paying company that pushes employees to work from home. Flexible work atmosphere. Cisco grades by quality of work done, rather than hours spent at a desk.

    Cons

Rising in Cisco is challenging. Everyone is extremely talented, bright and motivated. Rising from an entry level position to a high level is somewhat rare it seems like.

    Advice to Management

The way the company is run is great. Nothing should be done differently. There will always be cons when great people are working for a company. Competition is bound to be higher, which for the company, is a great thing.

  2. "Good Culture. Good opportunity if in right BU."

I have been working at Cisco Systems full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Work/Life Balance
    - Good Team Culture depending on BU
    - Good internal collab tools

    Cons

    - Every BU is different. Some are more flexible and provide more opportunity than others.
    - Too much signoff required. Many times VP signoff is required in order to proceed to next step.

    Advice to Management

    - Keep generating positive Culture in direct team and indirect teams.
    - Learn to be flexible.
    - Promote and keep high performers even if that means transferring them to different BU's.
