I have been working at Cisco Systems full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Flexible work schedule, job rotations, many areas to specialize in, job stability, smart people. Good company culture,

    Cons

Corporate politics, many layers of middle management, minimal opportunities for career advancement once you reach a certain point since many people are competing to crack into management level. continually reducing head count and increasing workloads. Some people are impossible to please, and that goes through many teams and many layers of management. Appearances of doing good work, doing more work, working long hours are more respected then well thought out ideas.

    Advice to Management

Workspace has too many people crammed into some buildings. Many projects are born from pet projects and do not care about the outcome / benefit involved.
