I worked at Cisco Systems full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Cisco is a respected company, and the world's leader in the IT industry.
Salaries are competitive, and the culture at the company is still relatively strong.

    Cons

Career-pathing at the company has become remarkably political. The best talent is leaving and new talent is chosen based on crony politics.

    Advice to Management

Invent Network as a Service. Recognize that owning and operating networks is context for the majority of your customers - even Service Providers, who are largely turning to content distribution vs. network ownership as their core competence.
