    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at Cisco Systems as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

    Work life balance
if you hit it off with the manager, bonuses, promotions, the works!
    scope to avoid work altogether
Very good for housewives looking to get back their careers before the babies got in the way

    Cons

Decreasing quality of employees : People don't know what their role is and want to get someone else to do it anyway
Heirarchies : Higher off positioned people get promoted and lower positions stay where they are doing the same job over and over for years. Unless some of those managers befriend them.
Average salaries : In some cases the salaries are industry standard. But once you're here, you're in for the same for a long while.
Staying here means you have nowhere else to go. The industry seems to know that people from here can't handle the heat of the new edgy competetive work environments. So moving out is tough. The people inside know that you can't move out, so you can be overworked, over-stressed and oppressed.

    Advice to Management

There are people who do the actual work. They are collecting expertise and are taking it with them due to lack of recognition and rewards. If stability is the only thing you have to offer to these people, let me remind you, Cisco does fire people now. So job security is already out of the question.
