I worked at Cisco Systems full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Challenging work which contributes to a lot of learning and growing as an employee and as a person. Working there twenty years ago when the business was booming, was a fantastic, one time life experience. There are a lot of smart people at Cisco, which was a great environment to work in.

    Cons

They lost focus of the most important asset, people. It is a very top and bottom organization/company. The executive compensation gap compared to 55% of the company, is HUGE. There should have been more key leadership changes at the very top, much much much sooner and often.

    Advice to Management

Make human capital one of the top priorities, consistently. Walk the talk. Give up the money.
