I have been working at Citi full-time (More than 8 years)

Pros

A lot of work/life balance:
 -Regularly work from home
-Many jobs have a full-time telecommute option
-Managers general care about work getting done vs. hours put in

Cons

Culture:
-Company too big to adopt a single culture.
-Office locations can't take advantage of opportunities available primarily at the corporate centers.
-Simple decisions often require a lot of red tape (even when they are already approved by policy)

Advice to Management

Expand opportunities that seem to only be available in your hubs, to the satellite office. If remote office is such a big push, why wouldn't the bulk of career opportunities be available regardless of location?

I worked at Citi full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

more collegial than other investment banks, but still very hierarchical and unnecessarily competitive. good analyst training program. tribeca us a great place to work.

    Cons

very difficult to move internally--extremely political. HR is a disaster -- beyond unhelpful to the point that they actually made my experience worse. very little investment in technology -- i fought for years to get a second monitor, but never got one. lots of red tape everywhere. layoffs every year continue. long hours, grunt work, but that was to be expected.

    Advice to Management

a shred of transprency would have been nice.
