I worked at Citi full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

* Fun culture where people form good relationships both at and beyond the workplace
* Lots of resources, including gym, cafeteria, decent benefits
* Large company offers opportunities to move around, but there is at times very little interaction between divisions

Cons

* Can some times be a good ol' boys environment. Networks are incredibly important for promotions and opportunities.
* Work life balance really depends on your division and your group. Large variation in hours. Some 9-5 while other work until midnight every night.

Advice to Management

Pay attention to morale. The culture changed quite a bit in the aftermath of the financial crisis. Retaining talent will requiring additional investment in time and training to make people feel valued at the company.

I worked at Citi full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Great work life balance
    Excellent benefits
    Great co-workers
    Supportive management
    Training is OK

    Cons

Communications between departments could be better. Each business unit operates like a silo.
If you work in a branch, very difficult for career advancement out of the branch. Might have to leave and then return.
Things sometimes take longer to get done because of red tape.

I worked at Citi full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Easy transition if straight out of college to get some experience, good number of vacation days

    Cons

Have to work a great deal with offshore teams, long hours with little to no recognition, not given additional resources when necessary, minimal career growth opportunities if you don't want to relocate

    Advice to Management

Find out what's going on among employees, there are a lot of people unhappy with their job and nothing is done about it
