I worked at Citi as an intern (Less than a year)

Pros

Very friendly environment. I never felt intimidated to ask any questions. Overall, some of the nicest people I've ever had the ability to work with. Learned a lot! I joined the QA team and was there from June - August. I didn't have a very firm grasp of what the QA team did. But after working on a couple PCRs (Project Change Requests), drafting a test plan, and reviewing test scripts in Quality Center, I gained a deeper insight to what testing really is and an appreciation for a testing team. Also, there is a ping pong table!

Cons

LOTS of calls! If you want to maximize work, please lessen the number of calls.

Advice to Management

None.

I worked at Citi full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Current technology and product introduction, many opportunities to develop if you are self motivated and highly driven. Committed to diversity and provides a rich environment. Very involved in communities.

    Cons

Workload is excessive and relentless, uncoordinated, fast moving changes do not consistently provide a place for people to do their best, take risk and to feel successful. Forced ranking environment breeds competitveness, not for the weak of heart. Depends on what location and what department you work in

    Advice to Management

    Communicate clear mission and goals.

I have been working at Citi full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Benefits, child care center, networking with people from all over the world, respect for people's culture

    Cons

lack of training, meritocracy. Too much politics, good people is not hired or promoted. You only get promoted if you have connections. No training, and if you do something wrong, they blame you even if you weren't trained to do it.

    Advice to Management

    More training and increase meritocracy.
