Pros

very good place to start out, lots of different opportunities and lots of people around to learn from. A much better work culture then most places on the street.

Cons

compensation may not be the highest on the street.

Very involved in all market activities

Move people around to keep people motivated.

I worked at Citi full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - High exposure to clients, particularly in the 2nd and 3rd year, for a junior banker
    - A lot of M&A modeling experience and market strategy work
    - Good / solid team in a small regional office

    Cons

    - Joined during the banking crisis, so lost a lot of our team the first year
    - Long hours, hard work, not a lot of vacation or down time as an investment banking analyst

    Advice to Management

    - Work on continual development of staff, even staff that is "expected" to rotate out in 2-3 years (would help with retention)
