I worked at Citi full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Management gave trust in allowing me to develop my position, valued my expertise and opinion. Those who are ambitious and wish to move up in the company can post with in and potentially move up.
Hiring and onboarding process was efficient.

Cons

Nothing really negative to say. Some historical information about the company was delivered during new hire orientation..not extremely interesting....

Advice to Management

Great Job.

I worked at Citi full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Pretty good starting salary. Citi has a good brand name and has a great reputation for their employee training program. Citibank has an international presence and has branches in over 120 countries so it makes it easy and interesting to work with international customers.

    Cons

Horrible work life balance. Will work you into the ground between the short staffing in the branches and the "call nights" until 8pm. After you've been worked until you're completely burnt out, they continuously change goals so it makes it impossible to get a payout. The bank is doing very poorly in the Boston market which is why they have closed 9 branches, downsized to 1 banker per branch, and wiped out all business development officers. With absolutely no involvement in a saturated banking community such as Boston, how can one ever succeed? It's really a shame because as a bank Citi does have a lot to offer, but the employees working in the branches are paralyzed by red tape and useless mandatory conference calls 3 times a day that do nothing but waste time when real work could be done.

    Advice to Management

Please listen to your employees who are working directly with Citi customers, cut back on conference calls, reward your employees with encouragement and positive feedback.
