I worked at Citi full-time (More than a year)

Pros

I loved everyone that worked there. My Managers, Co-Workers, etc., & eventually work at home.

Cons

The Company left Phoenix & I was unable to relocate.

Advice to Management

This is to any call banking call center. I believe it is better to focus on quality of calls rather than quantity of them. I would rather have someone have less calls per day and more time on the phone. These people are talking to Customers & doing their jobs. When they are forced to make more calls, they are so worried about that #, quality of time & quality becomes second to that. I have seen people push for the "phone time & call minimum", they are focused on calling no answers and leaving messages in order to accomplish that.

I worked at Citi full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Recognition that leaders and managers need to be supported in their development. Knowledge of how to do it. Sometimes willing and able leadership, who want themselves and their staffs to benefit from learning/training and other development approaches

    Cons

Lack of funding. Focus on metrics not on people. Constant re-organizing makes it difficult to create a network. Constant financial challenges diminishes probability that funding for learning will endure. The performance management system stack ranks people and doesn't do it well. This leads to continuous unhappiness.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of "forced" ranking of performance. Develop managers to care as much for people as profits (and the profits will come).
