I worked at Citi full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

Good Pay, Excellent benefits, Many hard working dedicated employees.

Cons

Very Long hours put in will go unappreciated. Upper management will give you lip service, but as I found out, it really means nothing. They Claim to care about their employees, especially long term ones, but at the end of the day all they really care about is the bottom line.

Advice to Management

Upper Management should treat it's employees like human beings and not cattle. You lose a lot of credibility when you thank long time employees for their hard work and dedication one week, and the next that their job is being moved offshore to save money. It really shows that dedication only flows in one direction at Citi.

I have been working at Citi full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

After the changes that came after the financial crisis debacle, I can not think of a single positive comment to make about Citi.

    Cons

Management at all levels treat staff like cattle. Compensation is barely competitive with other institutions, but they don't care, if you don't like it - leave.

    Advice to Management

Telling staff that they are lucky to even have jobs, is not a winning message. Morale absolutely sucks at corporate headquarters. Worker bees don't even get cost of living increases in NYC. "the beatings will continue until morale improves." Oh, really?

I have been working at Citi full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

flexibility in working arrangements, work at home schedules, excellent benefits and vacation

    Cons

middle management fails to recognize the utterly importance of its analysts. Analysts right now are struggling with excessive work loads and analysts who can't handle it, just walk right out. Initial training for the analysts is severely lacking.

    Advice to Management

invest in human capital. hire, train, and maintain high quality 'wall street' analysts. Pay them and you will retain the talent. Please, lay off the pity candy and soda handouts, they are extremely ghetto and immature and insulting. Management handed out 'payday' candy on pay day as a thank you when a generous bonus or raise would suffice. Please don't tell me that funds are not available. Have managers actually have a case load to see how analysts feel and do their jobs. Also hire from within and based on merits or work performance and not based on who talks the most.
