Pros

Great big clients to add to your resume. Quality work. That’s all. Join if you want some experience but not a place for long term

Cons

My honest observation. First day of work: HR (quite obvious who)hands you a laptop flooded with hundreds of work emails and asks you to familiarise yourself with what’s going on (work) immediately. No company background and culture deck presented at all. red flag. They don’t care about you. Lots of attitude giving, condescending remarks, scolding occurring weekly in the office. (Even if it’s not your fault) no respect given. Everyone seems to be afraid of how they look to the clients so they’ll be impatient and anxious about work done. There’s biasness as well(stirred by HR), and she will make sure you know. Turnover rate is ridiculously high and company management is traditional. Office politics are extremely high.(SG and HK for sure) Occasional bonding activities initiated but we all know no one wants to talk to each other they only care about themselves, including (especially) management. Management only cares about getting more clients. No monthly check in on employees on their mental health or if they are coping well. Management doesn’t encourage employees to voice out if workload is too much and doesn’t encourage you nor help you. All they can say is “don’t be stressed” or “you’ll be fine” and goes on to continue their work. An organisation will only be able to retain talent and do well when employees are happy but I’m not sure why it’s not the case here. It’s an unhappy place with unhappy people.

Citigate Dewe Rogerson Response

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and we’re really sorry to hear of your experience. We appreciate that adjusting to a new work environment and responsibilities for new staff takes time and can be stressful and demanding. We have and will continually finetune our onboarding process to better support staff in their transition as they cope with the changes. We provide more formal training sessions / on-the-job programmes that will help (especially newer) colleagues to better fit in, given their varied background and experiences. The mental health and wellbeing of our staff is crucial and a high priority for us as a business. We are continuing to look at initiatives which will enhance our wellbeing support and integration across all offices.

Pros

Very convenient place, very convenient place and strategic place

Cons

I have read many of the reviews here and noticed that the company actively responds to feedback. I sincerely hope that beyond replying, meaningful action can also be taken. First, I would like to share that I genuinely enjoyed my time at Citigate Dewe Rogerson. The office location is convenient, and my colleagues were supportive and collaborative. Several senior team members were clear in their guidance, and very generous in sharing their knowledge. It is not easy to find mentors who teach so clearly, and I felt truly grateful for that support. The HR was welcoming from the beginning, and the Managing Director made new joiners feel appreciated. The onboarding process and system explanations were clearly communicated, which made my early days more comfortable. However, I was disappointed that my time with the company was short and ended during probation. I came across in Glassdoor, someone commented that “Office politics is extremely high (SG, HK).” As a new joiner working remotely from Malaysia, I was not fully aware of certain internal sensitivities, particularly regarding cross-office communication. I believe more structured guidance for new employees, especially in the very early week, would help prevent misunderstandings. It can be challenging to navigate systems and cross-office dynamics without explicit direction. Also, in particular, I experienced challenges under this (Director) where i work with some accounts. There were instances where expectations were communicated as though prior instruction had been given, but when in reality certain processes had not been clearly explained to me. This created confusion and affected my confidence in delivering tasks such as media list preparation. It made me overthink to ask her again. But I am thankful that the senior colleagues who guided me were very generous in teaching. Their support made a meaningful difference during my time there. I believe it’s not easy to find guidance, who can naturally connect and stay in sync with you while teaching. Overall, I value the opportunity I had with the company and remain appreciative of the positive individuals I worked with. I hope the organisation continues to strengthen its leadership alignment (This is very important), cross-office communication, and on-ground senior support, especially for team members working remotely from Malaysia. I believe Leadership quality plays a crucial role in shaping team culture. I hope careful consideration is given when appointing Director (This is very important), ensuring they possess not only technical expertise but also strong mentoring and people-management skills.
