    I worked at Civeo full-time

    Pros

    Great money. Hands on training. After about a couple thousand hours can expect to make 26 dollars an hour. You don't have to pay for food or board. Meaning you can save some serious cash and be pulling in more money than regular jobs in other provinces. Benefits are amazing. Work tends to be straightforward and time flies. Don't have anyone looking over your shoulder. No commuting because you live where you work. Great RRSP program.

    Cons

    Very little opportunity for advancement. Not a great long-term career choice. Work 21 days straight for 10-12 hours cleaning poo toilets/making beds. Travel pay does not cover flights for people that don't live in Alberta. Some Coworkers range from drug users to ex cons to just plain deranged. Very few professional, educated people. Very little privacy. Must share bathroom. People are nosy and spread rumours. To say there are some sketchy people there would be an understatement. Far away from home/cities residential areas.

    Advice to Management

    Take care of your employees. Strict policies should be enforced involving harassment, emotional and sexual abuse. Many people come and go and management/union could care less because someone else is always waiting for the opportunity. Always focusing on positive aspects without addressing serious issues. At some sites it's not uncommon to have people calling the police who are surprisingly accustomed to receiving such calls. Could have been a great place for short term work if the environment did not attract the merde of the population.

    Pros

    Great People, Excellent products, Reasonable pay.

    Cons

    Management out of touch with local customers and decisions. Canada based decisions.
    They do a good job with camps. No leadership with issues of command.

    Advice to Management

    Hire local leaders and give them control.
