    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

-get paid a little above minimum wage as a host/ess
    -hotschedules
    -isn't boring

    Cons

-more and more is expected from you every day
    -tips aren't pooled
-manager at my location hovers over you

    Advice to Management

When every single employee has complained about one certain manager, that manager needs to be spoken to about his methods. I loved my job until one particular manager was hired. I feel unappreciated and as if I am not doing anything correctly.

Former Employee - Hostess in San Diego, CA
    Doesn't Recommend
    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

    - good job security
    - flexible opportunities for placement at other locations
    - clear, well-developed hierarchy and hosting/serving protocol, expectations of employees are made clear (even if the expectations are sometimes obnoxious)
    - management generally friendly, calm, and approachable

    Cons

    - endless corporate bull****, such as ridiculous rules and behavior standards
    - takes forever to move up the front-of-house food chain from hostess or busser to server. You usually have to work an underling position for at least 1 or 1.5 years before you get moved up, whereas at all the private restaurants I've worked at it usually takes about 4-8 months.
    - Hostesses aren't tipped!!!
    - compared to non-corporate, smaller, more upscale restaurants that give better pay, the work was very strenuous
    - lack of emphasis on teamwork or team cohesiveness
