Pros

Compensation opportunity is very high. You're working in the entertainment industry so you are able to meet/work with a lot of well known entertainers/celebrities. Most everyone employed is extremely experienced and are some of the best in their respective fields. They are the biggest company in their field and have a huge network.

Cons

The following is typical of a large company like Clear Channel that are driven for the bottom line. If you can't put up with an environment like this, I suggest you look into something else for a living.

CC is a very large greedy corporation. It is very cutthroat industry. Upper management tends to be out of touch with their employees. They only look at the bottom line and don't consider all the other moving pieces. Everyone is encouraged to work as a team, but in reality everyone is out for each other's throats. Work/Life balance is terrible. People that consistently work hard/smart are not rewarded as much as people that get lucky or that brown nose management. They claim to be better than the competition, but are not much different than the other large companies they compete with. Morals/Ethics of some management are questionable at times.

Advice to Management

Don't choose favorites. Encourage employees consistently and fairly. Stop getting the company in so much debt you can't dig yourself out of which then puts the pressure on all the employees below having to make up for it. Take the high road when it comes to gossip & controversy. Go to Church every now and then.

    Pros

The product itself, radio and TV programming/marketing is fun and challenging. There are some talented people in the organization

    Cons

The home office is relentlessly fixated on maximizing profits to the detriment of the product. Corporate made the statement several times: "We are in the business of selling advertising. Not entertainment." and this mindset hurts the company and contributes to its shrinkage in use.

    Advice to Management

Hire some radio product experts and give people reasons for listening to on-the-air radio. And get back to 12 minutes an hour of commercials. 22 minutes an hour is way too much. You are driving people to their Ipods.

I have been working at Clear Channel full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Radio used to be so much fun and was very rewarding but not any more. There are really no jobs left and those that are really don't pay like they used to.

    Cons

Staffing is at an all time low, morale is completely gone, everyone knows that it is all over. Really very sad now.

    Advice to Management

They won't listen so why bother.
