  1. "current associate"

      Current Employee - Anonymous Employee

I have been working at Cleary Gottlieb full-time

      Pros

Diverse, friendly, quirky, great exit opportunities. I met some of my best friends in the world here. This is also a great firm if you have any interest in working in an international office.

      Cons

Unclear how promotions work here. Seen quite a few people get burned. I think if you're looking for a clearer path to partnership you should look elsewhere.

Former Employee - Corporate Paralegal in New York, NY

I worked at Cleary Gottlieb full-time for more than a year

      Pros

No micro managing. Over time you get to pick and choose what deals you want to be on -- after developing relationships with associates they will specifically request you or you'll even be "adopted" by specific practice groups

      Cons

Hours can be tough, but that's what to expect at an international law firm like Cleary. You're working for and with the most demanding clients and colleagues. No mobility unless you get a JD.

      Advice to Management

Pay paralegals more, especially the leveraged finance coordinator
