Current Employee - Coordinator in Cleveland, OH
Recommends
Approves of CEO

Pros

The pay is good, the benefits are good, the perks (yoga) are nice. Generally co-workers are nice. The mission of the organization is something you can take pride in. A big, stable corporation that is doing OK in spite of the economic downturn.

Cons

Not confident in competency of senior management. Tendency to hire outsiders rather than promote from within, but there are exceptions. Too much politics, which creates stress. Constant health-oriented messages may be annoying to some people (re: healthy eating, not smoking, exercising). Constant push for "employee engagement" is also annoying.

Advice to Management

Put more effort into retaining employees and promoting from within.

"Not very proud to work there, but it pays some of the bills. I guess it's better than being unemployed."

Current Employee - Release of Information in Weston, FL

    Pros

It's a steady income, i have affordable health care coverage and i'm able to help people .

    Cons

An embarrassing low hourly wage, it's run like a corporation, not healthcare, many rules to follow so the company can control/monitor employees lives outside of work. There is more money spent on image than on more important things .i.e. flat screen t.v's/marble floors, fancy fountains everywhere vs.updated equipmt. to save paper / $, very low hourly wages, more parking for employees,(not a rock pit when they have to wear their 'required dress shoes/heels and pantyhoes' to work. Poor communication between the Dr's. office, patients and ROI.

    Advice to Management

An honest increase in hourly wages, organization betweeen ROI dept. and the OC's, & much of the info.in EPIC needs to be more consistent.Enough with the pep rallies "town hall meetings", We are all still struggling and just want to be well compensated for our dilligent work. If there's an issue and it gets in the way of 'Patients first', it might be wise to find a soultion.

Former Employee - IT Manager in Cleveland, OH
Former Employee - IT Manager in Cleveland, OH
    Approves of CEO

    Pros

Compensation and benefits are good. Office space is adequate and technology is always seen as a very important aspect. You will have the latest and greatest equipment.

    Cons

Co-workers are generally displeased with their workload and working in a hospital setting is very depressing. Must be extremely conscious of germs as well.

    Advice to Management

The technology is capable of doing many of the IT assignments remotely, however many of the upper management feels the need to make you do it in person. This is a complete waste of time.
