Pros

-flexible hours: you choose which assignments & which subjects you want to take
-rewarding job helping students
-easy way to earn some money during the high academic season
-tutor and client policies are clearly laid out in writing: for example, parents have to provide advance notice if they wish to cancel a session

Cons

-Irregular work loads (depends on demand)
-you have to drive to the student's home or to a public location and aren't compensated for either the driving time or gas prices; so the pay rate of $20/hr may end up being much less when you factor in all the hidden costs. But this is the ClubZ model: remove the overhead costs by providing in-home tutoring, shifting gas & transportation costs to the tutor.
-you're not compensated for prep time
-you're not compensated for the time-consuming paperwork you have to submit, yet you may have to compensate ClubZ if the paperwork is not submitted on time and is not in order: this is true if you're working for one of the government-funded programs of which ClubZ is a private vendor

    Pros

You create your own hours, you only take on students you want to teach and can turn down a job for any reason.

    Cons

There are a lot of tutors and not a lot of students, or so it seems. You make $19-$22 per hour...but the families are paying about $45 so you don't even get half. The company typically takes a long time to mail your check.

    Advice to Management

Know each tutor's situation. If you have tutors who are unemployed and looking to work a lot, hire less people so they can have more students.

I worked at Club Z! Tutoring full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

It's a part-time tutoring job. Very flexible schedule. You generally get to approve your own clients (you don't have to take all of them). Get to do tutoring work without having to drum up your own clients and without having to pester the mom or dad about getting paid

    Cons

Not much career advancement potential. 90+% afterrnoon and evenings hours. I only ever got one daytime client through Club Z!. Still have to deal with moms/dads that can set unrealistic expectations (the local AD can help buffer this for you though)

    Advice to Management

Better pay would have been nice. Better billing system for tutors to get paid.
