Pros

Dedicated staff in most respects with a tremendous amount of knowledge. Very good in the areas of sales and marketing, and accounting practices.

Cons

Arrogant attitude towards anything that has not originated from within. Very hard to get new ideas across. Needs upgrading in golf ops, golf maintenance and fitness practices to remain competitive.

    Pros

    Worked there back in high school, loved the place and would recommend it:

    Fun/Relatively easy work
    Enjoyable members
    Good networking opportunities
    Good benefits (i.e. golf discounts & ability to play the course)

    Cons

    Little/No chance of receiving a raise
    Management can be oblivious to issues/problem of junior employees

    Advice to Management

    Take note of junior employee's ideas and perceptions of other employees. At the very least, be willing to hear a conversation about raises.

    I worked at ClubCorp full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Great members; A large network of clubs; 50% off meals.

    Cons

    When the company was sold by the Dedman family, it became all about the money. Department heads are constantly hounded about their labor dollars and are expected to work 6 and 7 day weeks. The health/dental benefits are the worst in the industry. Corporate support is severely lacking and employee morale is dangerously low. Instead of spending the money to buy more clubs, take the time to repair the existing clubs and their employees.

    Advice to Management

    Listen to your employee partners!! They are on the front line everyday with the members and they truly care!! They are the #1 asset of ClubCorp.
