Pros

International exposure--Coke derives 70%-80% of revenues outside of US. Great place to get internaional exposure, but not necessarily experience.

Cons

Insular, old-boys network tough to penetrate. Ex-Pat network that is tightly knit, wary of local talent.

Advice to Management

Cookbook approach to each market may not work as there are still vast cultural differences that affect local consumer choices.

    Pros

#1 Brand Name in the World, Benefit package is really good. Sales tools are highly valuable in working in the trade.

    Cons

The management is a complete fiasco. You will have multiple programs going on all at the same time, meaning nobody knows what's going on. Turnover is happening so fast, which means you have to work another person's job or maybe two as well as your own job, however, when something is going wrong with your job, you are questioned as to why. The workload is massive. Expect to work 55-60 hours a week, and even doing that, you will never be caught up. Vacations? Everyone who goes on vacation worked during their vacations, because you were scared what was coming your way when you got back, with 1200 customers to attend to, you could never take care of them as well as you wanted to. I witness on several occasions high senior management humiliate other managers in front of others, but since they laced the humiliation with some humor they thought it was appropriate. We had no merchandisers in the department, so besides everything else you do, they expected all your stores properly merchandised with no merchandisers that's after making 12 calls a day and completing all the paperwork. The stress level at this place will bring you down to your knees. The job will takeover your whole life, leaving you with little time to share with your family or anyone else.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the Good Old Boy system in place. Senior managers without college degrees will always be insecure of better educated people. How many people from within my group were promoted to higher positions during my employments? Try zero!
