Pros

Great people from the top down. A good business with plenty to learn if you look in the right places. Opportunity and experience gain. Comfortable culture, and currently a great location. Great benefits package and above average compensation. This really is a great place to work.

Cons

No transperancy. Current industry difficulties and operations shifting south are breeding uncertainty and leave stability in question. Water cooler rumors. Lots of turnover with some at the senior level. Lack of seniority inspired enthusiasm in all departments.
Still a great place to work.

Advice to Management

Honest communication from the top tier to the group regarding the present and future of the company in order stop the rumors and the turnover. Top tier and middle managers should inspire their teams to be motivated and enthused. Lead the teams back to big call numbers by getting into the middle of the action with them. CRG is a great place to work, but it could be amazing.

    Approves of CEO

    Pros

    - Fun, young environment; plenty of corporate events (holiday parties, office potlucks, happy hours, philanthropic causes, the JPMorgan Corporate Challenge)
    - Manageable, consistent hours; promotes good work-life balance
    - Positive, encouraging atmosphere (a rarity amongst financial services firms in New York)
    - Mid-level Management are excellent at training, providing guidance and feedback
    - Great place to learn a broad-based professional skill set in research, sales, account management or marketing

    Cons

    - Better communication and cooperation across the different apartments
    - It's a small company, so an established time table and hierarchy for promotions is not established; there are opportunities for growth, but you need to recognize and seize them for yourself

    Advice to Management

Overall, I like the Management Team. I would suggest taking strong initiative in facilitating cooperation and communication across the different departments, but I've already seen them take steps toward accomplishing that.

    "Stagnant environment of telemarketers"

    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

Interesting research topics that you may sometimes get to learn about when speaking with recruits.

    Cons

The Research Associate position is not accurately advertised. When interviewing, it sounds like you will be working with financial institutions, but the work you end up doing is simply searching for "experts" on LinkedIn all day. Once you have found these people, your job is simply to send them InMails, call them, and email them if you're able to find their information. The job is okay, but there are few opportunities for further learning and professional development. This is not a position that would allow one to begin building a career, as it is similar to telemarketing/cold calling. Employees do not feel financially rewarded and many seem to have very real financial difficulties due to the low pay rate.

    Advice to Management

While the way things are run at Coleman may be helpful for the company's bottom line, the company does not offer the type of environment that makes employees and project managers want to stay around and grow with the company. The jobs are dead-end and the environment stagnant. Employees do not feel financially rewarded and many seem to have very real financial difficulties due to the low pay rate.
