I have been working at Columbia University part-time (Less than a year)

Pros

Chance to talk to students from all over the world. Adequate payment. Often instructors are nice and easy to co-work with.

Cons

I'm a CS TA for graduate students. To be honest, the math bases of some students are too poor to handle even the easiest problem--hard to explain to them without actually doing HW.

    Pros

You are given relative freedom in terms of what you research and who you research with.

    Cons

Low income. If not interested in academia, you might be better off with a master.

I have been working at Columbia University as an intern (More than a year)

    Pros

Meet amazing professors and work at an awesome campus
Lots of extra free food left over from various functions.
    Good pay

    Cons

    Lots of boring admin work
Sometimes professors are not the most socially adept people in the world and can come across as unnecessarily demanding on illogical tasks
