I have been working at Comcast full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    good services
    good benefits
    yearly raises
    did I say good benefits?

    Cons

still lower pay scale industry - but very profitable??

serious problems with decisions made outside market that are unrealistic
of course workers are happy in CO, GA, PA, IL, NJ - they get all the training, projects, dept growth while markets outside those zones barely get by and cannibalize themselves
check engineering opportunities - no local growth to be found

    Advice to Management

get in touch with your local markets
your decisions cannot be proven by excel sheets and phone meetings
reality is in the field so get dirty 1 day out of the year, fly in uninvited, and see how your decisions affect your customers and the hard working people that work these frontlines
I have seen many horrible decisions play out - a weeks worth of work turned into a few months and the people responsible were rewarded with more marquee projects while the ones cleaning up said messes were pushed aside and left for other companys - this also resulted in finger pointing at the local scale to protect ones behind
but you cannot see that play out in a multi market phone call - people are just happy to put projects behind them because things are so in disarray
also there is a Major attitude problem between local markets and national engineering
if its not a fire no one cares period
not unless a Director is involved
where is the need to communicate with local assets?
why does so much go unnoticed?
