I have been working at Comcast full-time (Less than a year)

Pros

Comcast allows a lot of room for growth, offers great benefits and training with little chance of overworking. Very people oriented and united in working with "hostile" consumers.

Cons

Learning a complicated system and business model.

Advice to Management

Simplify wherever possible and question all processes.

I have been working at Comcast full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I cannot lie: Benefits are above average, 401K match, insurance, etc.
Door-to-door Sales experience is good for future positions or to start your own business.

    Cons

    - High stress, micromanagement, very demanding and frustrating job, no work-life balance since you have to answer your phone 24/7 or risk losing a potential sale.
    - Most high performers have left already because the money is not there anymore and quotas are constantly increasing.
    - You have to depend on lazy technicians and contractors to complete your installations....No install, no commission.
    - GPS tracking, enough said
    - If you accept this position you better have thick skin since you will have many doors slammed in your face and many "NO!" thrown at you everyday.
    - Comcast reputation and its customer service are the worst, so expect to receive many calls from your customers regarding techs being late or not showing up, wrong bills, equipment failing, etc

    Advice to Management

Listen to your people in the field, you don't know squat about knocking doors so don't tell sales people how to do their job. Stop micromanaging sales people, it messes up our attitude in the field and that results in fewer sales.
Hold techs and customer service people accountable for their mistakes. Fix your installation process, we are losing many customers because they have to wait 2 weeks to get installed (?????)

I worked at Comcast full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great benefits including reduced cable services
pay is better than average however the commission scale is often changed to control income.

    Cons

    micromanaged,
churn and burn culture... I saw the entire sales force turnover 3 times during my 4 year tenure... life expectancy is less than 1 year.
expected to do work at home and before / after normal business hours...lawsuit waiting to happen.
promotions in Comcast are based on filling diversity quotas.
company is in constant state of reorganization and job elimination... are you next??

    Advice to Management

    None... they wouldn't listen anyway
