Pros

Great opportunities for learning and personal development

A lot of international travel, weekends included. A lot of change both across the industry and within the company - can be both a pro and con.

Manage for the long-term.

    Pros

Compensation was equal to much larger companies in the Chicago area. Short communte for those living in the South Suburbs. I was able to put in long hours and still spend time at home with my family. Even with the recent move to Joliet Andrew / Comscope is a easy commute.

    Cons

Senior management was to consumed with selling the company. Felt organic growth was a bad word and purchased too many smaller non profitable competitors in an effort to make Andrew something it wasn't. Forgot core compentancy and focuse on diversification. Also Senior managment practiced flavor of the day strategies, when one wouldn't work it was discarded and a new strategy implemented.

    Advice to Management

    Quit,

    Approves of CEO

    Pros

They really do a great job of compensating employees. THey have great benefits and there is no waiting period of probation to start them except for vacation it takes one year to get two weeks of vacation.
They always look to promote from within the company first. They also provide tuition reembersment for degree programs. All in all they a a very good company to work for and poised for growth from new aquisitions of other companies last year.

    Cons

IT is susceptable to the fluctuation of the housing market in the cable industry for media cable. Wireless cable is set to continue excellent growth. The shifts in some departments are twelve hour shift and supervisors of those shift work the same hours.

    Advice to Management

Find ways to see that employees are motivated to take advantage of higher education benefits to improve their positions within Commscope.
