I have been working at Commonwealth Bank of Australia full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Lots of opportunities within the organisation but need to be active in making them happen. It is also an exciting time to be working for an orgnanisation that has been recognised as a leading force in IT in the industry.

Cons

As with any mega-organiastion there is a lot of 'red tape'.

Advice to Management

Need to probably work out a better and more equitable pay structure.

I have been working at Commonwealth Bank of Australia full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

stability, job opportunities, salary, financial perks

    Cons

depends on the area/team you work for (which is the case anywhere) but similar to other reviews. Expect to work like a machine, not much recognition (unless your bringing in income), many job opportunities but comes down to politics (if your manager wants to let you go or if the hiring manager already has someone in mind), progression is slow (unless your in the inner circle of senior management), KPIs are set fairly high to the point of unachievable unless your a super employee, inflexible. seems like culture is ingrained at a early stage so when employees progress up the ranks the cycle continues.

    Advice to Management

treat staff like valued employees not commodities

    Pros

    - Good culture
    - Teams are friendly & supportive
    - Good if you want to stay for a long time

    Cons

    - Because people generally stay, promotions generally take longer
