    Pros

Working in London is a great overall experience. The Secretariat allows you to gain knowledge about many Commonwealth countries. The salary is good.

    Cons

Information on the various rules which staff should follow are hard to come by. When one first joins from overseas they are not properly guided on English schools, housing, travel, etc.

  2. Helpful (1)

"Nature of the work is interesting and rewarding but management and organisation culture is ineffective and demoralising."

    Doesn't Recommend

    Pros

Field work is rewarding when you come into contact with the diversity of people around the Commowealth.

    Cons

No direction from current management. Some senior management officers are self seeking and feathering their own nests without any regard to the welfare of the staff and the fact that the organisation is funded by some of the poorest countries in the world.

    Advice to Management

Stop making life miserable for staff.
Inject some direction into the organisation's work.
