Pros

The hospital is part of a large healthcare company, most of the staff is under SEIU ( a union) and the pay and benefits are probably the best in the area.

Cons

The neighborhood around the hospital is pretty rough. There is a lot of gang activity, but if you feel the need to, security would escort you to your car.

Advice to Management

The neuro care unit seems to be the major unit of concern. No one likes working there because they are afraid to be fired over histerical family members of patients, and because some of the RNs are outright disrespectful, not to mention management hasn't appeared to improve its image any(let alone try to).

    Pros

Ability to network if you are in the medical field. Nice employees. Easy parking. They really stress their mission statement and it is apparent in working there.

    Cons

Bad location, old hospital, unorganized hiring process. Took 3 months from applying online to starting first day orientation. Wish location for physical was at the actual hospital. Instead it is at a satellite location where I had to wait an hour, from there was sent to another location for more tests.

    Advice to Management

Make the hiring process easier. Try to utilize the idea of timeliness as prospective employees may be turned off to the long hiring process.
