    Pros

    Employees at all levels are genuinely passionate about local news Extremely bright leaders Valuable experience in an ever-changing , challenging industry Editorial freedom at local levels Focus on the transition to paid content from ad-supported content Significant watchdog reporting

    Cons

    The recent merger with Raycom has been difficult as two companies with different cultures attempt to transition to each other's platforms and software without solid training from the knowledgeable side. There's room for improvement on communication between the companies and a need for employees on both sides to embrace a team mentality. It's still early in the merger, so I can only assume this will improve over time.

    Advice to Management

    It's disappointing to see so many negative reviews about management. Layoffs, for example, haven't occurred because leaders are vengeful or careless. They've occurred because 1.) ad money that previously paid the bills has declined as Facebook & Google dominate the market, 2.) the public isn't accustom to paying for local news & 3.) most of the public don't realize how crucial local news is for democracy.     Cons

    Imagine the worst possible company policies, condescending attitude toward employees by the corporate office, complete lack of intelligent leadership then multiply by 10 and you have the Fake Newspaper Company CNHI.

    Freedom to make your own decisions in the Publisher role

    Cons

    Newspaper industry is dying and with most of revenue coming from advertising they are hurting as there are so many more effective and cheaper ways to reach their target market.
